About Us
The Cooperative system has been a part of the Purdue University community for over 75 years. Glenwood Cooperative was founded in 1939 by Glenora McFadden to provide economic housing for women and grow sisterhood, responsibility, academic excellence and service. Glenwood was located at 421 University Street until 1969 when it was moved to its current location at 503 North University Street.
Glenwood is one of the largest women cooperative houses with a capacity of 35 members. Women of Glenwood hold tightly to the values and traditions passed down by our founder. Members live together and are responsible for maintaining the house, including weekly meal preparation and cleaning duties. The cost of living is significantly reduced compared to other social housing organizations. Glenwood Women are also able to take part in activities sponsored by the house such as intramural sports, social functions, Homecoming, Dad's Day, Mom's Day, Purdue Day of Giving, and philanthropic events
Core Values
ACADEMICS
Members of Glenwood share the discipline and desire to excel in the Academic programs Purdue has to offer. Glenwood girls are pursuing degrees in the many different colleges. In 2018, Glenwood was ranked 8th for academic standing in all of FSCL (Fraternity, Sorority, and Cooperative Life).

RESPONSIBILITY
Women of Glenwood are taught personal responsibility through New Membership, leadership positions, and in house activities such as meal preparation and house duties.

PHILANTHROPY
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is currently our philanthropic partner. We host an annual corn hole tournament during fall semester and participate in events like Light The Night and Relay For Life in the spring.

New Membership
The goal of new membership is to facilitate individual growth as well as a strong sense of sisterhood between the new member classes. New Members begin Membership the first 10-12 weeks of fall semester. This program acclimates new members to life at Glenwood by further developing an understanding of Purdue history, Glenwood traditions, academic discipline, service, and social aptitude.
